What is it?
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is produced by your pituitary gland, which is a small gland located underneath the brain. In women, it aids in controlling the menstrual cycle and stimulates the growth of healthy eggs in the ovaries. These FSH levels change throughout the menstrual cycle, with the highest levels produced just prior to an egg being released by the ovary (ovulation stage) and high levels during perimenopause /menopause in women.
Symptoms:
•Irregular/no periods
•Hot flashes
•Disrupted sleep
•Skin and hair changes
•Difficulty getting pregnant
•Mood change
•Weight gain
•Poor bone health
What is it?
Cancer antigen 125 is a glycoprotein. This protein is found on most ovarian cancer cells and is then secreted into the blood stream. When abnormal ovarian cells grow their DNA mutates and quickly multiply, they can invade and destroy healthy tissue eventually forming a growth (tumour).
High levels of CA 125 do not always mean cancer and can be caused by other medical conditions causing health issues. The CA 125 tumourbiomarker has primarily been the most useful tool for the past 40.
Possible Symptoms:
•Swollen tummy/bloatedness
•Pelvic or tummy pain/tenderness
•No appetite or feeling full quickly after eating.
•An urgent need to urinate or more frequently •Back pain
